Mariner Endosurgery leadership is pleased to report that with the legal support of McDermott Will & Emery (MWE), we have successfully filed and have been granted a new expansive utility patent for LaparoGuard AR.
This new patent includes a broader set of claims more relevant to the robotic surgery space. The claim set Includes multiple safe, danger, and dissection zone references; multiple references to robotic surgery platform integration; Includes technology of the future aspects beyond augmented reality — voice or eye control, hand gesture prompts, eye movement through spatial input design, artificial intelligence from prior surgeries; and adds use of imaging for zone definition (3D u/s, MRI, CT, sonar). With this broader patent added to our already strong patent coverage, we can continue our breakthrough R&D and commercialization activities.
